Alaska Moose Hunting Guides
Our Alaska moose hunting guides will take you deep into Alaska’s backcountry into units 19-B and 19-C. The fully guided moose we offer target the majestic Alaska Yukon moose. The area we hunt is a 4 Browtine or 50 inch or larger requirement. We however focus on 60 inch or bigger, with many bulls going into the high 60,s to 70 inches. Our moose hunts are out of spike camps on small lakes. We fly into camp by float plane and then hunt by foot, calling moose into us. Calling moose to us allows us to shoot them closer to the water and the float plane where they will be flown out. We strive to achieve a shot of 100 yards or less. Many are taken at 50-75 yards.

What Type Of Transportation Do We Use On Our Hunts?
Many of the hunters have never flown in a float plane, this is a chance to cross another item off the bucket list. If we are hunting several species, there may be moving of camp involved, so you could be moved a time or two. Remember, you are not allowed to fly and hunt the same day, so we only move in the late afternoon so you can get the morning hunt in before you move. You will see Alaska from a very unique perspective.
How Much Gear Can I Bring?
Upon arriving at Regal Air, we ask that you repack your gear into smaller soft duffel bags and your pack to better assist in loading into the small high performance planes we use.
What Type of Rifle is Right For My Moose Hunt?
We recommend a minimum of a 300 Winn Mag or Weatherby Mag with 185 grain slug. Many hunters use a 338 Winn Mag with a 200-225 grain slug. Remember shot placement is key to a successful hunt.
How Do I Get My Moose Back Home from Alaska?
Many hunters want to bring meat home, in Alaska all meat from every animal is salvaged. So with each moose taken, we will fly the meat, hide and horns out of the bush for you. Most hunters only take a portion of the meat home with them. What we do is typically fly half of the meat back for the hunters to Anchorage to the processor and the other half is donated to the Elders in the local native villages.
Once the meat is processed, it is then shipped by Alaska Air Cargo. All cost for processing and cargo freight are paid by the hunters.
The hide and horns are flown into a taxidermist, and then the hunter will work with them to decide what they want done either tanning and shipped or mounted etc.
What Are Our Moose Camps Like?
The camps are done in Alaska Guide 8 man tents, with cots and heater provided. Remember you are in remote Alaska, so you will see and hear animals from camp, and sometimes they even visit. Also all food and snacks are included, you will eat well!
Are Combo Hunts Available For Moose And Other Animals?
Many of the hunters make it a combo hunt and will take both Moose and Grizzly. We also have a Caribou and a Black Bear option as a trophy fee. You will need all tags and licenses before you arrive at camp. This also includes any harvest tickets needed.
